Our Story

Brent & Emily plus 5 kids equals a PARTY OF SEVEN. We live on the homestead started by Emily’s grandparents.  She remembers fields of watermelons, peas, and corn. Sitting in the swing under the big oak tree in the backyard shelling peas while visiting with her grandmother is one of her favorite childhood memories.

In 2017 we joined the Ruston Farmer’s Market and started selling our homegrown produce to the public. Each year we learn a little more and tweak our processes to become more efficient and productive.

In 2019 we added a greenhouse. This allowed us to start growing all our vegetables from seed which helps us keep disease down in our gardens.

In 2020 we decided to get a nursery certificate permit (grower’s permit) from the state so we could sell plant starts and cut flowers at the farmer’s market. Emily is a stage 4 breast cancer survivor (4 years “cancer free”)! The medicine she has to take to keep the cancer away causes joint issues. She started planting flowers this spring as a way to get moving and help manage her joint pain and just hasn’t stopped. We had no idea planting a few zinnias because “they are such cheerful flowers and make her heart happy” would offer the opportunity to share that joy with so many others!

Thank you for following us on this journey!
